I was so excited to see that 3 Michigan Hospitals (Bixby Medical Center in Adrian,Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Rochester, Herrick Medical Center in Tecumseh) have now banned smoking. Oh not just banned it from inside the building or out in their parking area. They will not hire you if you smoke at all. They are going to give applicants a nicotine test and if your test is positive then you don’t get the job.
This is done in the name of “good health”. These companies also don’t think this is any type of discrimination. Although I had always thought that companies could not refuse to hire people from a certain group…guess that is blow to hell.
Why would I think this is good?
Because someone might want to reject applicants that are over weight. Obesity is way out of hand and the side affects are driving up medical cost. Owners may not want to pay the insurance to cover the health related problems an obese person may have at sometime. If someone can’t control their food intake and a regular exercise routine then they may not be able to control things on the job.
Business owners that are Vegan can now refuse to hire anyone that consumes animal products. That doesn’t just mean people can’t consume them at work. Nope, they can’t ever consume them if they want to keep their job. If you get caught out at a restaurant with a glass of milk, scrabbled eggs, or even a piece of cake made with eggs…your job is GONE! Maybe even stick it in the employees contract that if they ever eat meat while still employed…they are subjected to a public hanging in the employee break room at dawn.
You think that all this sounds crazy? Nope, changing the rules in the middle of the game is all great and fine if someone pockets get filled with cash.
So all of you non smokers just think how they have put smokers threw hell. They have taxed the shit out of all nicotine products. They have charged smokers more for insurance. All while the government and insurance companies have made a ton of money. Hell, just look at how many companies sell products to “stop smoking”. These products cost a small fortune and many require visits and prescriptions from doctors who also make money off of smokers.
So how did it all start…the government let cigarette companies say it was ok to smoke. There were no ill effects to smoking. The government even allowed cigarette manufactures to put even more chemicals in their products so they were more addicting and had worse side effects. Once enough people were hooked, they started pulling in the reins. More taxes, more insurance cost because suddenly they said they were causing cancer, heart disease….
Since they have charged smokers for everything possible, how else could they possibly punish them? Hell, the smokers are easy targets because sheeple will just go along with it. They have stopped people from smoking in Government buildings. Some states have banned smoking from restaurants and bars (in the name of protecting children’s health. What kid is in a bar?). Some states have even proposed to ban smoking in cars with kids under 12 y/o. Yeah, you can get a fine for smoking in your own car. How long until they ban or outlaw smoking in your own house?
Well, they have done a great job. So many people have stopped smoking that they have got to start looking for another way to make money by charging massive taxes and health cost…who is the next easiest target?
Now, take a look at the food the government is allowing to be sold. High fructose corn syrup that is going to pack the pounds on. Aspartame in so many “diet” products is sold by the pound to help you loose that fat ass and lower your blood sugar caused by all the high fructose corn syrup they already sold you. I could list a million problems with the dairy and meat industry. They add enough hormones that little girls start menstruation at 7-8 years old. The antibiotics they add is already being linked to super bugs. So, now little by little they are using food to let you hang yourself. Soon, they could decide that they should add on a Fat Tax. Yes, they have already talked about it in many states. That would mean a high tax on foods and drinks with high fructose corn syrup. You know, that shit they have said was safe and fed you for years. If you think this sounds crazy, there are more obese people in the USA than smokers. Complications from obesity is now ranking #1 or 2 for health care cost. I would bet that these cost added up truthfully are far higher than cost from smoking.
So all the chubby people beware. You are next in line to be discriminated against by the taxman, health care, and employment.
To take another step forward and look at all the kids diagnosed with bull shit like ADD, ADHD, Depression…these kids are now considered to have (had) a mental disability or disorder. They drug these kids with no scientific diagnoses of illness or cure. These drugs have physical effects on the body that the government, doctors, and pharma companies ignore. That is until it can be used against you. One day when these kids want a job…to bad no one will hire a person that has had mental disorders, are possibly dangerous (the drugs do cause suicidal and homicidal thoughts), or were to numbed during childhood that they now do not know how to handle anything without a pill (Ritalin and Adderall are the #1 drug of choice in college students and are addictive like heroin). And soon a lot less people will own guns because, an entire generation has suffered from mental illness (that was called ADD, ADHD….).
So all of you cheering that the hospitals in Michigan refusing to hire nicotine users remember you and or your child could be next on the “For Your Health” hit list. It may soon be ok and acceptable for others and the government to discriminate against you…and your family.

You know, when I first enlisted into the Army the government issued C-Rations (food we ate in the field) actually had a few cigarettes in them. I never smoked until I turned 18 and joined the Army.
You’re spot on when it comes to obesity. The government is considering a rule which would force truck drivers with a body mass index of 30 or more to be tested for sleep apnea. The details are fuzzy right now but it looks like the driver will be responsible for the testing and/or treatment expenses and anyone failing the test can’t drive for 30+ days at a time before they can retest. How many people can afford to go without income for a month at a time while paying for testing and treatment? Another case of the government violating people’s rights and freedom while the masses of sheeple sit back and try not to be noticed. Just disgusting.
