Well said Sarcastic Bitch. I live in Michigan, one of the hardest hit states for unemployment. I have friends that have been out of work for a year or more. I’ve heard things like, “My unemployment check is more money than I can make there” or “I’m not working at that non-union dump”. The whole time I’m sitting back wondering if they realize unemployment benefits are temporary. It’s like all of sudden shit is owed to them and there’s no thought about when it runs out.

I personally know several people that spend ZERO time looking for work. They still have time for bars, BBQ’s and cigarettes yet everyone is supposed to feel sorry for them.

It’s a scary topic for me because I see my job possibly coming to an end very soon (see my URL above). I would like to think I would do everything possible to support my family, keep the house and pull myself up. I’m not above delivering pizza, working fast food or working two or more jobs. Whatever it takes is what it takes.

It makes me sick. I think a lot of the people in that boat didn’t deserve the job in the first place. It’s damn hard to respect someone that sits around bitching without any effort on their part.

Sorry, I would have answered you sooner but, I was trying out my 2 week waiting period to see if someone would send me a check if I did nothing all day.

Have to tell you that it didn’t work. I checked the mail and not a freakin cent. I did get some bills so that made me just knowing that someone else expects non existent money to be given to them.

I bet you have seen plenty of people out of work as Michigan has been the number one in highest unemployment for years.

I don’t understand how people get by without applying for jobs while getting unemployment checks. Years ago when I was on it I had to send in places I applied. I knew people that got kicked off because they either did not apply for jobs or when it was checked on it was found that they lied. Now, the unemployment office must just be to over whelmed to check. Maybe they should hire more people and that would give some people jobs and stop checks going to that people that are not looking or accepting work.

I’m with you, I have had some pretty shitty jobs but at least I wasn’t just sitting around letting someone else pay my bills and whining.

I sure hope you don’t loose your job but the only jobs that are sure to be around are the ones at the unemployment office because it’s not getting better fast enough.
