What the hell is wrong with some bloggers?

On one of my blogs (not this one here) I started getting a bunch of comments all at once. In a matter of just a few days I was getting slammed with crap comments. Most of these idiots were leaving keywords instead of their name (That is one of my pet peeves).

Some even left links after their 1 sentence comment. Yes, in the comment box (Another pet peeve).

I figured I had gotten picked up by some freakin spamming auto posting bot. God, I hate those things.

As I checked to see where these commenters were originating from, I noticed that they seemed to all be coming from 1 site. A blog that was owned by some idiot giving SEO advice. His great article on how to raise your page rank was to go to as many blogs as possible that allow DoFollow links & hit several pages & leave a comment on each. He did tell them not to leave the same comment on each on as that would look spammy. Damn, he is a genius! You sure don’t want those other stupid blog owners to notice the comments are spam.

He was doing his readers a favor & made a huge list of DoFollow blogs. Mine happened to be on it. Gee, thanks for the link dude. It would have been better IF you would have at least let the links on your list have DoFollow. Oh you could have not only made them do follow but, maybe given them anchor text that was something other than HERE! Oh and look he has his comments with NoFollow. We shall now refer to that blogger as Asshole!

I wrote Asshole a letter telling him to take my link off his spam list.

Asshole replied that he was trying to do me a favor by giving me more traffic.

I told him that his people were leaving shit comments & I was not getting any quality traffic from him. I wanted off the list!

Asshole then told me that his blog had a PR of 4 & I should be happy getting a link from him.

I of course told him that the NoFollow link with crap anchor text was worthless to me. It was causing more work to delete all the spam than any help he thought it was worth.

Asshole then explained that he did not notice that the link was NoFollow…..

WTH? Did he think I was so stupid that I couldn’t figure it out?

Well, after going back & forth with him he did remove my link. I did throw in a few threats, one of which was that I would hack my link out if he didn’t take it out. Little does he know, I couldn’t hack my way out of a wet paper bag. I guess he figured I had to be really smart if I figured out he had NoFollw on my link.

So, I have spent my day contacting some of my friends that were also on his list of blogs to spam & told them why they were being hammered. I went & looked just a bit ago & his list of dofollow blogs is shrinking.

I’ve come to find out many people are threatening the poor asshole.

That is how I have wasted a day. Now, I am wasting more time bitching about it here. But, you know I feel better.
