We all get spam posted in our blog comments area.
Ok, Seth Godin doesn’t because he has comments turned off. Some say he does this so people have to link to his post if they have something to say about an article. I say he just doesn’t give a rats ass about what anyone else thinks.
Oooops, I got a little side tracked.
Blog comment spam – Most times it’s just a bunch of keywords with just as many links. Or maybe you get the comments that are 2 sentences that have nothing to do with your post. I’ve also had the full blow ½ page ads left as comments.
Sometimes I get so many spam comments I hate to even look at them. But, today I was so flattered when I opened one of my blogs to see this comment –
Substantially, the post is actually the best on this valuable topic. I agree with your conclusions and will eagerly look forward to your incoming updates. Saying thanks will not just be enough, for the great lucidity in your writing. I will directly grab your rss feed to stay privy of any updates. Good work and much success in your business endeavors!
Wow! They think my article is the best on this valuable topic. *They must know quality when they see it*
They even agree with my conclusion & even want me to write more. *No one ever agrees with me so, now I’m blushing*
If saying Thanks will not be enough…they could always send cash!
Lucidity?????? Not sure I follow that so I did Webster it – clearness of thought or style. Hmmmm, sure my articles are always crystal clear.
Well, I am sure all of you are now jealous that I got such a favorable comment about my work.
You’re turning green with envy aren’t you? No need to lie, I know you are.
Just so ya know….I didn’t just get this comment from 1 person. Nope, I got that same comment from about 23 people. Sure they all had the same IP address & were pushing the same link but, they all had different names.
I know it wouldn’t be just 1 guy trying to fool me by posting the same comment on 23 different post…I mean he just said how smart I was. He would definitely know I was to smart to fall for such a lazy excuse of spam.
I’d love to stay over here & share more with you but, I have 23 comments to respond to. My 23 fans await me.

I laughed at this! I have just had to filter through comment spam for an hour! it is kind of weird that they are so flattering about whatever random post it was.
I actually fell for a few of them (until I read about others having the flatterspam too and deleted them).
ah well, back to wondering if no comments is better than spam comments!
Thanks again for a laugh!
