I was reading a story online the other day about Debt Collectors using Facebook to find people. I thought they had a really good idea.
Here’s what they are doing…The bill collector signs up for a Fake Facebook account, makes up a friendly name, makes up more lies about who they are and what they do, maybe even adding in a few fake pet pics, and then loads up a profile pic of an Attractive person. Then they start searching for the names of people on their list of who they are to be trying to collect money from. Once they find the person they think is right they then send a friends request. Once the person accepts them as a friend then the bill collector has access to all their info as to where they live, birthdate, maybe where they work, and even pictures of vacations or other ways the person is spending money rather than paying their debt.
This is all legal according to laws of collecting debt. So, what I am wondering is…
How do they keep a fake account from being disabled? Heck, my legitimate account gets disabled all the time for breach of Facebooks TOS. I don’t even need to break the rules to get banned. But, maybe it’s because my profile picture is not of an “attractive” person.
Of course these bill collectors use the pic of an attractive person because we know for a fact that everyone who owes money is lonely and will accept any old attractive person as friend.
Well, all of this got me really worried. Not that I owe money but, if bill collectors are doing it than so are other people. Maybe that guy I broke up with years ago and stalked me until I left the state is posing as an attractive person and just wants to know all about my exciting life after leaving him (Actually he is the type to come look in my windows). I decided to go double check my friends list to see if anyone looked odd.
Fact was…all my friends look odd. So, I searched for any friends that were attractive looking.
Bonus! I have only ugly friends! That’s right I only accept people that are so ugly they make me feel better about myself. Guess, there is no need for me to worry.
So go over to your Facebook account and look at all of your friends, if you see any attractive people then I would advise you to delete them from your friends list ASAP. If they are really that good looking then they already have real life friends and don’t need to talk to people on Facebook.

What’s your FB link? I’ll fit right in with your other friends. We should be linked there anyway so I can keep a little sanity. The farm and other app crap from the sheep is killing me.
Low life debt collectors are pretty fun sometimes. The best phone pranks are on debt collectors.
